Finishing Touches

We are hanging up pictures and putting finishing touches into our home.
It feels great to be unpacking and moving in.

There are still things to be done but we are on our way.

On to New Things

Well, the last few months have been long and stressful. Luckily, in the last month of it all we had a safe and peaceful haven to go home to. The Klumb's (Roger's parents) opened their home to us. When they first agreed to let us stay, they thought we would only be there for a few days...maybe a week. Well, a week turned into a few weeks (ok a month and a week), but we finally were able to move into our own, newly renovated, home.

To fill everyone in on the details... Back in August we put an offer and a home (it needed lots of work to be called a home but it had four good walls and a roof). Due to a special renovation loan that required extra attention and work, compared to your normal loan, it took a few months before we closed on the home. On Nov. 6 we became home owners, and the work began. The contractors went to work. A number of delays later, we were given a final move in date. So we rented out our apartment and packed up. Only to discover the home was not ready and we had no where to go. This is where, so generously, both our parents offered to let us stay with them. (with only a couple of days notice) So we moved in with the Klumbs.

I have to admit, it turned out to be a really nice thing. We were ten minutes from my parents and able to see them for dinner, church and whatever; like shopping and lunch with my mom. Plus we had a nice loving home to return to when everything else was so stressful. I was able to take the time to grow and improve myself. With lots of help and encouragement from my parents and Roger's, I finally made a few new years resolutions other than getting the home completed. I am more capable in many ways and a much better me. Definitely more organized, but that is still a work in progress. So I left with a tear and my eye, but a smile on my face becasue I knew good things were yet to come.

I can't thank Our parents enough for the help the offered.

(and ps.. if the Klumbs see someone in their kitchen eating pickled beets, don't worry it's just me stopping in for a snack. Who would have thought you just had to pickle a beet to get me to eat them.)
